The best cure for the winter blues is to join your quilty friends for a 12 hour quilting marathon! As usual, friendship, food and fun was the order of the day (and night!) with members showing off their fabulous quilty projects.
Verena seriously impressed us with her mini mini (seriously, it’s mini!)
Janine demonstrated her long term staying power, with a finished quilt that she started in 2011.
Kristy demonstrated her quilting superpowers.
And Cathy B impressed with her white on white quilting.
Our guest speaker was MMQG member, (and, ahem, author) Emma Jansen who told some stories from her recent trip to Quilt Market in Utah, and also showed us some of the stunning quilts that feature in her book By the Bundle.
Sandra organised an impromptu scrap swap, which is a great way to refresh a stash!
Members also helped stitch together quilt tops for Orlando.
Our next special event is our Project 48 Sewing Day on 10 July. Project 48 is MMQG’s official 2016 Quilt-along, and the event will feature special guest Crystal McGann from Raspberry Spool, Project 48’s co-founder. Tickets are available here.
