Following the recent tragedy in Orlando, Florida, the MMQG were proud to contribute to the #QuiltsForPulse drive, run by the Orlando Modern Quilt Guild. Their plan is that the quilts will go to those personally affected by the tragedy: survivors, victims’ families, first responders, nurses, doctors, and LGBT groups.
Working with a simple heart shaped block in a rainbow palette, MMQG members made blocks which have been made into two quilt tops, with a third to be completed.
Quilt tops were sent to Orlando, complete with MMQG labels so the recipient will know where they came from.
Thank you to all MMQG members who contributed to this charity project. We will be continuing our charity work at our July Sit and Sew Day, supporting the work of Share the Dignity and Keep Safe Quilts.
