This month we held our first Sit and Sew event at GJ Discount Fabrics‘ new digs in Fairfield. We spent our day their light filled sewing space, perused their large shopfront downstairs, and got to know the ‘hood.
And we did some sewing. And some Show and Tell.
Alys showed us group quilt, Bonza, which was made to take to QuiltCon in Austin, Texas earlier this year. It recently won 3rd place in the Group category at the Modern Quilt Show in Kiama.
Kristy has finished the top of her Single Girl quilt, designed by Denyse Schmidt, using Liberty fabrics, no less.
Trish is working on a stunning quilt, Flutterby, designed by Jen Kingwell.
Another Liberty lover, Cathy B, brought in her quilt, Taking Liberty with Roundabouts, designed by Amy Gunson.
Erin has completed a stunningly intricate lone star mini quilt, which she made as part of a swap.
Deborah made this quilt by hand (needle turn applique).
And here’s something that Cathy M just whipped up before lunchtime:
Billie with her beautiful Amish inspired quilt:
Our next two events coming up are our Social Stitching Evening at Hawthorn Library on Thursday 25 June, and our Sit and Sew Day at GJ’s discount fabrics on Sunday 19 July. Click here to book.
