Congratulations to three MMQG members who have placed at the Royal Melbourne Show craft competition this year!
In the category – patchwork handmade or machine pieced and commercially quilted (class 098), Highly Commended was awarded to MMQG member Anne Robinson for her “Colour Combo” quilt. This quilt was made from a free pattern from the Film in the Fridge blog, using black and whites from her stash, as well as hand-dyed fabrics. The machine quilting is a geometric pattern done by fellow MMQG member Vera Fachara.
Commended in the same category was awarded to MMQG member Alison Hingston. Her quilt “Life is a Celebration” was taken from a pattern in Homespun magazine and was quilted by Karen Terrens.
Both quilts are on display at the Craft Pavilion at the Royal Melbourne Show until 29 September.
Congratulations!
