An industrious bunch of quilters got together on Saturday’s Sit and Sew Day at GJ’s to socialise and sew. There were are a variety of projects undertaken; in particular, there was a lot of work going on with quilting bee blocks, with four bees running in the Guild at the moment! We look forward to see these blocks turn into quilts soon.
This was also the first Sit and Sew day for some of our members who have recently returned from QuiltCon in Austin, Texas. A few tales from the road were told – more on this to follow!
Mandy showed us her fantastic piece of “Patchwork Doodling” from her workshop with Sherri Lynn Wood at QuiltCon.
Merran showed her modern traditional Dresden Plates
And proud grandma-to-be Marilyn showed her quilt for her lucky grandchild.
Our next event is our Social Stitching evening in Hawthorn on Thursday 26 March, followed by our Sit and Sew Day at GJ’s on Saturday 11 April . Bookings for both are open now.
